All you need to host the perfect party
You are probably reading this because you have decided to go it alone and organise your own party. Whether that’s a birthday, baby shower, or engagement party. First of all – well done! It is not always easy to plan your own event. But not to worry, we’re come up with a basic checklist for you to consider when you plan your first ever party. If you follow these seven simple steps, you will be well on your way to having a successful event.
Date and time
Firstly, you need to choose a date and time.
Guest numbers
Next, you need to count how many guests you want to attend your event. This is important as it will directly impact your budget and the type of venue you select.
Choose your venue
Once you have a date, time and guest numbers, you can begin to shortlist which venue you want, if you have not already done this. This can be quite difficult especially when you don’t know where to start. Why not have a chat with us with your requirements?
Theme
Once you have figured out the basics, now will be a good time to look selecting a theme. If you need some inspiration, we have have compiled a list of exciting themes to choose from. From masquerade to circus soiree.
Props and furniture
After you have decided on a theme and venue, it’s now the perfect time to start sourcing props and furniture for the event. Will you need outdoor furniture, red carpets, artificial jungle plants or ice sculptures? Find out more on prop and furniture hire.
Choose your entertainment
After determining the venue, you will have a better idea of the type of entertainment that will be suitable for the venue. Are you looking to have a band or a magician? Perhaps a fire-breather? You may want to get your guests up and dancing with a DJ!
Select food and drink for your guests
Depending on the type of party, the size of your venue and the number of guests, you may want to have a small buffet, or a complete 3-course sit down meal. It is totally up to you, but remember the fancier it is, the more expensive it can be per head. You should also consider any dietary requirements and consider halal, kosher, vegan and vegetarian options.
Decide on transport
How will you or your guests get to the venue? Is it easily accessible or will you need to organise transport for your guests? Why not consider hiring a Routemaster or a party bus!
Choose a photographer
You will probably want to snap the party so you can create lasting memories – that can be sometimes difficult and you will need to choose a photographer whose style you really like.
