Online invitations or paper invites?

Posted on 30/12/2019
Online invitations

Should I use online invitations for guests to RSVP?

Physical wedding invitations are great, and there’s something cute and special about receiving an invitation which is wax sealed. But if you are having a wedding or celebration abroad, it becomes quite difficult to get out all the important details for your guests such as flights and accommodation.

As a result, online invitations have become increasingly popular over the years and many of our clients prefer online invites. They deliver cost savings, flexibility, improve guest management and they bring invitations to the modern age!

How do I create an online invitation?

There are multiple options and it’s worth weighing the cost, website building skills and time before deciding which option to go for.

If you are quite skilled, its worth buying your own website domain name, and then building the website from scratch. You can use something like WordPress or Joomla to help get you started. This can cost anything between £6 – £100 to do.

If you’ve never built a website like the most people, you can use the following online tools. Make sure you check if there are any hidden costs and make sure you choose a platform that suits you best.

  • Wix
  • Say I do
  • RSVPify

What if I want to use both options?

You can absolutely use both options, you can send off the invites by post, and you can request guests RSVP on the website, that way you can have a mix of tradition with a bit of modernity and you’re not messing about with pre-paid or franked reply envelopes.
